The apple blossom and cow parsley are sublime, at their best for our Artweek guests.
Each year at this time Oxfordshire artists have the opportunity to exhibit together across the county. Oxfordshire Artweeks is the UK's oldest and largest artist open studios and pop-up exhibition event; and this year we are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Artweeks, how amazing is that.
I have to admit that I used to think that most counties in the UK had similar art events but it seems that Oxfordshire was a trailblazer. Artweeks now brings together around 2000 artists and makers exhibiting at over 400 venues; quite some achievement!! It is brilliantly organised by Esther Lafferty and Jo Salmon, who have really embraced the digital potential of Artweeks in such a way that Artweeks has continued to flourish during the last couple of disrupted years.
A special 40th Anniversary exhibition has just opened in Oxford at the Jam Factory and runs until Sunday 19th June. It is an in-person and an online exhibition and I'm happy to say that my painting Back to Nearly Normal has been selected for this exhibition and can be viewed at the Jam Factory.
